Website Care Plans

Website care plans

Hosting, software updates, tested backups, monitoring and a defined allowance of minor amendments, provided on a monthly basis.

Overview

A website is a standing responsibility, not a completed project

Certificates expire. Software passes out of support. A contact form ceases to deliver without notice, and the first indication is a customer mentioning that they wrote twice. None of this is dramatic, and all of it costs less to prevent than to remedy at the point it becomes material.

A care plan assigns that responsibility. It covers hosting, updates applied and verified, backups taken and restore-tested, monitoring that reports faults before they are noticed externally, and a defined allowance of minor amendments each month.

What’s included

Scope of a monthly plan

  • Hosting, held in an account registered in your name.
  • Software and plugin updates, applied and then verified. An update that silently disables a page has not been completed.
  • Backups taken on a regular schedule and validated by performing an actual restore. An untested backup is an assumption.
  • Uptime and certificate monitoring, so that an outage is identified by us rather than discovered by you.
  • A defined allowance of minor amendments each month.
  • A point of contact already familiar with the site.

Scope and timing

Monthly, and genuinely optional

Quoted monthly and in writing, once the site and its hosting arrangements have been established.

A plan is not required. Many sites operate for years without one, and we will not suggest otherwise in order to place a subscription. What a plan provides is that faults are identified before they affect the business.

Frequently asked questions

Common inquiries

Is a care plan necessary?

No. It is optional, and many sites operate for years without one. What a plan provides is that lapsed hosting, unsupported software or a contact route that has silently failed is identified before it affects your business.

Can you maintain a site you did not build?

Yes. This normally begins with an assessment of the existing site so that its condition is established rather than assumed. Once it is in a known state, the plan operates as it would on any site we built.
